Navigating Settings

The Settings page lists all configuration options in grouped rows. Select any row to open that section, make your changes, then return to the list.

Who sees what

What you see on the Settings page depends on your role:

  • Cashier and Manager: Account, Receipt Printing, and Cash Drawer only.
  • Admin: all categories across four groups.

How to open a setting

  1. Click Settings in the sidebar.
  2. The Settings page shows categories grouped into Personal, Store, Operations, and Commerce.
  3. Select the category you want, for example Tax, Loyalty, or Account.
  4. That category's settings form opens.

Saving changes

Each section has its own Save button. Changes are saved per section, not all at once. A success notification confirms when a save completes.

If you click Back before saving, your unsaved changes will be lost. Save first if you want to keep your edits.

The Customers settings category

The Customers category (Operations group, Admin only) has two toggles that control what cashiers can do with customer records.

  • Cashiers can create and edit customers: when on, cashiers see a create button in POS and on the Customers page. Loyalty discount percentage stays restricted to Manager and Admin regardless of this setting.
  • Cashiers can access the customers page: when on, cashiers can browse the customer list and view profiles including purchase history and loyalty balance.

These settings take effect immediately for all cashiers on next page load. Turning off a toggle does not affect Managers or Admins.

Things to know

  • Enabling or disabling Promotions takes effect immediately. The Promotions link in the sidebar appears or disappears without a page reload.
  • Enabling or disabling Returns works the same way.
  • The Change Password option is inside Account. It is also accessible from the profile menu in the header bar.
  • Receipt printer configuration (QZ Tray, Bluetooth, browser print) is per-device and stored in your browser, not on the server. Each device needs to be configured separately.

FAQ

Q: Why do I only see a few options on the Settings page?

A: You are logged in as a Cashier or Manager. Only Account, Receipt Printing, and Cash Drawer are available to those roles. Admin-only categories are hidden.

Q: Can a Cashier configure their own receipt printer?

A: Yes. Receipt Printing is in the Personal group and is available to all roles. Settings are saved on the device only and do not affect other terminals.
